Prior to attending graduate school, I worked as an avian ecologist and Eastern Sierra Nevada regional director of projects for Point Blue Conservation Science; our research and monitoring projects investigated community patterns in avian habitat use, demography, and species interactions. Important to this research was its application to restoration, land and water management, and conservation policy.
